It's getting better all the time...

I love this time of year... the weather just keeps getting nicer and there are always so many fun activities taking place. Whats not to love about that?!

We love the Sunshine!!
Mocha and I enjoying the beautiful weather outside with the new MIB black cocoa coffee from Dunkin Doughnuts. If you have not had one yet, I highly recommend it!

Congrats to Terri and Paul on their engagement!

Last weekend, Pat and I spent time in Corning @ 3Birds with my mom for Mother's Day

For Mother's day I made my mom a wreath, "Skinny Hummingbird" cupcakes, and got her some purple (her favorite color) tulips. Mom, if your reading this... I love you and am so appreciative for everything you do! : )

First experience making clams...
The verdict: Pat loved them and the thought of cooking them grossed me out too much to eat them.
In short, the next time I want clams, I will be ordering out!

Although, I did love this delicious strawberry crisp that I made my dinner instead

A very happy 50th birthday to Roberta Grant!!

Finally getting around to "summarizing" our house

Saturday was spent getting burnt while planting my garden and all of my flowers around the house... it was well worth it!

The front of our house

Even though it is hard to see... I planted some bright yellow flowers on the front stairs

My garden! This is my second year planting a garden... I tried to plant a little bit less this year since it got a little overwhelming in there last year.

Freshly planted flowers on the back stairs

Chanel was working on her tan... she is still pretty pale though

I completed my second 5K ever Sunday morning at KOMEN's Race for the Cure

Sunday afternoon was spent at the gorgeous Seneca Lake

It's so beautiful... it's almost surreal

At last... filled all of the frames in my hallway picture frame collage

This picture is from a couple of weeks ago, but it is truly the most amazing soup that is also healthier from skinnytaste.com. It's the load PB soup with cauliflower

Let the festivities begin....

This past week was pretty exciting with all of the events and celebrations taking place!

The excitement began Friday night....

The cheerleaders in down town Elmira at
"Paint The Town Purple" event.
(In case you were wondering... yes, they were very spirited!!)

That night was spent getting ready to celebrate one of my good friend's Birthday the next day.

I recruited my husband Pat to help with the eyes and he did a fine job! I decided to make these owl cupcakes a while ago after seeing them online and thinking they were just too cute to pass up. My friend Molly is owl obsessed and I thought what better occasion than her Birthday.

I also made this Pinterest inspired balloon wreath for the occasion

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." -Abe Lincoln

In honor of her day, we did some wine tasting at Seneca Lake.
(How amazing is that view??!!)

The birthday girl herself enjoying some vino

This must have been a special day seeing that it was not only Molly's birthday, but it was also the Kentucky Derby, the super moon, and a favorite of mine... Cinco De Mayo!!

For the occasion, we decided it was a good idea to wear some mustaches while wine tasting. (yes, we look a little bit like super troopers here! haha) I have to say that we were quite with others at the wineries ("we're kind of a big deal"). But really... who doesn't like mustaches?!

"OLE"
After wine tasting, we made an appearance at my parent's Cinco De Mayo party.

Some might see it as a mustache, while others see it as a perfectly good uni-brow. haha

My other half of Mel squared even came to visit! (In high school, we were both called Mel for short... therefore, we became "Mel Squared") Pictured above: Melissa and Jen celebrating!

It occurred to me later to take a picture of some of the crew. Too bad I did not think about this earlier in the night when the other half of the party and food were still present. lol I blame it on the drinks!

*Octavia opening her presents*
Sunday, a beautiful sunny day, was spent outside working on my tan and oh yeah... at my friend Octavia's bridal shower. I had a great time catching up with some friends I have not seen in a while.

This was the "Old Ruby Tuesday Crew." We had such a good time when we all worked together! But, we are all grown up now and have moved on to bigger and better jobs. Although, I will never forget the good times of one of my first jobs.

I love when the weather gets warm and the events are in full swing!! It is never a dull moment!
