As summer comes to an end....

Sooo long sweat summer.....

Today officially marks our first wedding anniversary. I could not be happier than one year ago today I said yes to my best friend/love of my life.

Sept 3rd 2011 was a day I will never forget! : )

We actually started the celebration this Saturday and went out to Corning where our first date took place.
The Cellar in Corning is one of our favorite spots.

It seemed fitting to get dressed up and celebrate there...

We started off with a bottle of champagne

and ordered some apps including lamb lollipops and a flat bread pizza.

We headed to Watkins Glen this morning to pick up our cake thanks to Sugar Mountain who makes you a fresh cake for free so that you don't have to freeze and it eat it a year later. I can't wait to try it tonight!

My request tonight was to watch Sweet Home Alabama for our anniversary.
My favorite line...
-"why do you wanna marry me for?"
-"so I can kiss you any time I wanna..."
Ah.. just makes me smile!!

On a side note: this has become one of my favorites! You must try Riesling Bubble from Atwater!

New sheets are just one of the new things happening with our bedroom. Up next: Pergo floor and new paint. I'll be sure to post updated pictures once it is finished.

Fun yummy cupcakes at the end of the summer pool party one of my old co-workers had a week back. It will be bitter sweet not going back to Horseheads High School as my full time employment, but I am excited to start my new job tomorrow at  GST BOCES : )

Last week, the hubs and I were fortunate to fly to the city for the day on the Corning plane and yes, that means we had be up at 5:09AM!! : 0

We enjoyed breakfast when we first got there and spent the rest of the day walking around the city shopping...

They were taping a show for the Entertainment channel in Rockefeller Center

Pat and I shared a delicious piece of cheesecake -NY style ; )

I tried my first macaroon to see what all the fuss was about... it was pretty decent.

Pat was gracious enough to buy me a gift from the NBA store.

Some of my favorite things from the past few weeks:
Pretty roses from Wegmans when they had $1 a stem special

My new "You are my sunshine" project

Chaboni yogurt with fresh peaches & honey, lemon scented candle, and hydrangeas
Every year we (my family) goes to NASCAR at Watkins Glen. It's kind of like a family reunion each year. I never thought that I would enjoy it as much as I do.

cookies I made for the occasion... chocolate cookies with mint oreos and M&Ms
My goal was to get another snapshot with Patrick Dempsey, but he wasn't at the track this year.

This is actually from last year.

{Pat's breakfast of champions, a nearby campers' foam party, and Dempsey's car}

A couple weeks back I enjoyed amazing weather with my friend Alanna on Seneca Lake. We did some wine tasting, hung out at the Italian festival, and took a boat ride to the Tiki Bar.

I cannot say good enough things about the 'newly' renovated Eldridge Park!! We got to enjoy some snacks, put-put, and the marry-go-round : )

Up next are all of the pictures of my food creations... I try to choose recipes that are on the lighter side but still big on taste. I find most of the used recipes on Cooking light, skinny taste, or other blogs.

Until next time....
